League participates in 45th session of General Assembly of Arab States Broadcasting Union

​A delegation from the General Secretariat (Media and Communication Sector), headed by Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, Assistant Secretary-General and head of the Media and Communication Sector, and including Minister Plenipotentiary Nassima Shrit, Director of the Media Department, is participating in the 45th session of the General Assembly of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU), scheduled to be held on 16–17 December in Tunis.

Arab Fund for Technical Assistance to African Countries concludes advanced training course on negotiation and crisis management

​A five-day advanced training course organised by the Arab Fund for Technical Assistance to African Countries for a group of Sudanese personnel, on 11 December at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States. The course was held under the generous patronage of His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States.

General Secretariat statement on the martyrdom of Palestinian prisoner Abdul Rahman Al-Sabateen

​The League of Arab States (Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories Sector) strongly condemns the martyrdom of the young Palestinian prisoner, Abdul Rahman Sufian Muhammad Al-Sabateen, aged 21, from the town of Husan west of Bethlehem. He passed away on 9 December in an Israeli hospital following a severe deterioration in his health as a result of deliberate medical negligence and inhumane detention conditions.

​The second regional conference on “Modern Technologies and International Humanitarian Law: Autonomous Weapons Systems and Artificial Intelligence in the Military Domain,” organised by the Department of Arms Control and Disarmament of the International Political Affairs Sector, in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross, is being held at the headquarters of the League of Arab States on 10–11 December 2025.

Aboul Gheit condemns Israeli forces’ raid on UNRWA HQ in East Jerusalem

​Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, strongly condemned the Israeli forces’ raid on the headquarters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Jerusalem, describing the attack as part of an ongoing campaign by the occupation aimed at undermining the Agency’s role and dismantling the protection it affords to the rights of Palestinian refugees.

International Arab Media Dialogue Forum

Opening 28th session of Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism and 36th session of its Executive Bureau

​The 28th session of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism and the 36th session of its Executive Bureau were held on 9-10 December in Baghdad, Republic of Iraq. The sessions were held in implementation of the resolution adopted by the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism at its previous session, held at the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States on 12 December 2024, which stipulated that the 28th session of the Council be convened in Baghdad on 9-10 December 2025, preceded by the 36th session of the Executive Bureau on 8 December 2025.
