General Secretariat holds first meeting for Technical Committee for Maritime Risk Reduction

​As part of joint Arab efforts to enhance preparedness and coordination in responding to maritime disasters, the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States (Department of Housing, Water Resources, and Disaster Risk Reduction), in cooperation with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport and with the participation of several Arab, regional, and international organisations, will convene the first regional technical meeting and Arab exercise simulating a maritime disaster. The event was held from 16 to 18 November 2025 in Aqaba, the capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Arab Fund for Technical Assistance to African Countries opens eight health training courses in Lusaka, Zambia

​The Arab Fund for Technical Assistance to African Countries inaugurated a training programme on 17 November in Lusaka, the capital of the Republic of Zambia. The programme consists of eight training courses for gastroenterologists at Augustine Hospital and the University Hospital of Zambia, in cooperation with the Zambian Society of Gastroenterology and the African–Middle Eastern Association of Gastroenterology. In addition to delivering scientific lectures and providing practical training, the participating physicians will perform endoscopic procedures on a number of critically ill Zambian patients. The programme will run through 21 November.

The session was attended by Ambassador Faed Mustafa, Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine and the Occupied Arab Territories.

​Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, participated on 13 November, in the annual celebration of Arab Document Day, held under the theme “The League of Arab States: Eighty Years of Joint Arab Action.” The event was organised by the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in coordination with the Arab Regional Branch of the International Council on Archives (ARBICA). A number of distinguished figures in the field of documentation from across the Arab world attended the celebration.
