Executing the tasks of the technical secretariat of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice in the sessions of the Council, its executive office and technical committees.
Coordinating with Arab ministerial councils specialised in issues of common interest, such as the Council of Arab Interior Ministers.
Coordinating with regional and international organisations, including the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, the International Organisation for Migration, in addition to establishing cooperation between the League of Arab States and South America as well as enhancing Arab-European cooperation.
Coordinating Arab positions in international conferences and agreements related to the legislative, judicial and legal fields and international judicial cooperation.
Working on updating the directory of Arab experts in the legal field, with whom coordination is being made to provide the Technical Secretariat with experts in the legal and judicial fields.
Expressing opinions on issues presented to the department by the councils and committees of the League or by the internal organisations of the General Secretariat or Arab organisations operating within the scope of the League of Arab States.
Giving opinions on cases in which legal advice is requested in the field of work of the department.
Receiving grievances submitted by League of Arab States employees.
Drafting contracts that the League of Arab States works to conclude with other parties.
Carrying out administrative investigations in the various issues referred to the department and representing the General Secretariat before other parties in legal cases and issues, as well as representing the General Secretariat before the Administrative Court of the League of Arab States. That is in addition to following up on legal issues related to privileges and immunities for League of Arab States university missions and centres.
