The League of Arab States expresses deep concern over reports of the indiscriminate bombing of the Zamzam camp for displaced persons in North Darfur State, which has tragically resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Such actions represent a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.
An official source at the League's General Secretariat extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wished a swift recovery for the injured. The source underscored the League's unwavering commitment to the implementation of the Jeddah Declaration, signed on 11 May 2023, which emphasised the protection of civilians and the urgent need to establish a ceasefire. The League reaffirmed its steadfast position in supporting Sudan's stability, as well as safeguarding its unity, sovereignty, and independence.
