he annual consultative meeting of the League of Arab States Council at
the level of foreign ministers took place on the evening of 23 September
on the sidelines of the high-level segment of the 79th session of the
United Nations General Assembly in New York. The meeting was chaired by
His Excellency Dr. Shaye Mohsen Al-Zindani, Minister of Foreign Affairs
and Expatriates of the Republic of Yemen.
During the meeting, discussions revolved around the developments in the
situation concerning the brutal war that Israel is waging on Gaza, along
with the dangerous Israeli escalation against Lebanon.
The meeting emphasised full solidarity with Lebanon, both its government
and people, and strongly condemned the escalating Israeli aggression
against it. Particularly alarming was the situation since the morning of
23 September, which resulted in the tragic loss of 357 Lebanese lives
and left 1,250 individuals wounded in a single day.
The gathering extended complete support to Lebanon in the face of this
aggression, holding Israel accountable for this perilous escalation. It
also issued a warning regarding the grave consequences of initiating a
large-scale aggression against Lebanon in light of recent events. Such
actions could potentially trigger a widespread regional conflict,
jeopardising the security and stability of the entire region.
Furthermore, the ministers reached a consensus on the necessity of
coordinating with the member states of the Islamic group in the upcoming
days to convey a clear message to the international community. This
message underscores the imperative need to halt the Israeli war of
aggression without delay.
