Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit,
Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, congratulated Ambassador
Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary-General and head of the Social
Affairs Sector, on receiving this year’s United Nations Population
Award. This recognition honours her distinguished contributions to
addressing population, women's, and social development issues in her
homeland of Jordan and through the League of Arab States. It also
acknowledges her efforts in enhancing cooperation between the League and
the United Nations in these areas.
The Secretary-General expressed his sincere appreciation for the
commendable efforts made by Ambassador Abu Ghazaleh since assuming her
position as Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States. He
wished her continued success in her professional and personal
endeavours.
