The Secretary-General of
the League of Arab States, Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, welcomed His
Excellency President Aleksandar Vučić, President of the Republic of
Serbia, at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo on 13
July.
Gamal Roshdy, the spokesman for the Secretary-General, stated that Mr.
Aboul Gheit highlighted to President Vučić the distinguished relations
between Serbia and the Arab world in political and economic fields. He
also pointed out the significant mechanisms of cooperation and
coordination that exist between Serbia and several Arab countries on
regional and international issues of mutual concern.
The spokesman added that the meeting included discussions on several
critical regional and international issues, notably the recent
developments regarding the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, the situation
in Sudan, and the crisis in Libya. The meeting also covered Serbia’s
perspective on the repercussions of the situation in Ukraine at both
international and European levels.
Roshdy explained that President Vučić expressed his appreciation for
Serbian-Arab relations, emphasising that his visit to the League of Arab
States headquarters reflects his country's commitment to strengthening
ties with the Arab world. The President also extended an invitation to
the Secretary-General to visit Belgrade.
