Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, received Mr. Abdul Hamid Al-Dubaiba, Prime Minister of the National Unity Government of Libya, on 3 July.
Gamal Roshdy, the spokesman for the Secretary-General, stated that the meeting involved an exchange of views on the latest developments in Libya. The Prime Minister discussed the current situation and the government's efforts to restore security and advance development in the country.
The spokesman relayed Aboul Gheit's review of the dialogue session hosted by the League for several Libyan parties in March. The Secretary-General also listened to the Prime Minister's perspective on the matter. Mr. Aboul Gheit affirmed that the League will continue its efforts to encourage all Libyan leaders to take measures towards adopting a constitution and holding presidential and parliamentary elections in Libya, in response to the aspirations of the Libyan people and to establish stability and security in this important Arab country.
