Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, condemned the aggressive military operation launched by the Israeli occupation against Jenin, which resulted in numerous martyrs and wounded. He emphasised that international efforts, including the recent decision by the International Criminal Court to indict Israeli leaders and generals for war crimes and crimes against humanity have so far failed to deter Israeli criminality or stop the ongoing massacre that has persisted for seven months in Gaza.
Gamal Roshdy, the spokesman for the Secretary-General, stated that Mr. Aboul Gheit warned of the dire consequences of the escalating situation in the West Bank, which threatens to lead to a complete explosion. This warning comes in light of the ongoing Israeli attacks and violations over the past months, resulting in hundreds of martyrs and thousands of wounded and captives.
Roshdy highlighted that the invasion of Jenin and other cities and towns in the West Bank blatantly reveals the plans of the Israeli occupation, which are unrelated to the events of 7 October. Instead, the objective appears to be consolidating the occupation, annexing lands, and expelling Palestinians from their homes through practices that can only be described as ethnic cleansing.
