The extraordinary session of the Council of the League of Arab States was convened at the level of permanent delegates on 24 April at the General Secretariat headquarters. The session was called upon the request of the State of Palestine and garnered unanimous support from all member states to address the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the escalating aggression and the US veto at the UN Security Council against the full membership of the State of Palestine in the UN. Presiding over the meeting was His Excellency Ambassador Al-Hussein Sidi Abdullah Al-Dayeh, the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and the current session's President. The session included the participation of His Excellency Ambassador Hossam Zaki, Assistant Secretary-General of the League, and His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Saeed Abu Ali, Assistant Secretary-General and head of the Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories Sector, along with permanent delegates and delegation heads.
