The extraordinary session of the Council of the League of Arab States, convened at the level of permanent delegates, took place at the General Secretariat headquarters on 3 April.
Chaired by His Excellency Mr. Al-Hussein Sidi Abdullah Al Dayh, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania in Cairo and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States (currently holding the presidency of the League Council), the meeting aimed to address Arab and international efforts to halt Israeli aggression. The discussion was prompted by Israel's failure to comply with resolutions from both the Security Council and the International Court of Justice
