As part of the League of Arab States' efforts to foster mutual understanding among Libyan parties, Secretary-General Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit has extended invitations to Mr. Mohamed Al-Manfi, Chairman of the Presidential Council, Counsellor Aguila Saleh, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Mr. Mohamed Takala, President of the Supreme Council of State. A dialogue session is scheduled to take place on 10 March at the League headquarters to facilitate intra-Libyan dialogue.
Gamal Roshdy, the spokesman for the Secretary-General, said that this call stems from the League's genuine responsibilities towards this crucial Arab nation, especially at this critical moment. It reflects an effort to extricate Libya from its longstanding crisis, the burdens and consequences of which have intensified for the Libyan citizens. Today, they are looking to their politicians to navigate this challenging situation by prioritising the country's best interests above narrow considerations.
