Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, extended his heartfelt condolences to the State of Kuwait, its leadership, government, and people, as well as the entire Arab nation, on the passing of His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait. Mr. Aboul Gheit prayed for mercy for the departed, wishing His Highness's family and the people of Kuwait find strength and comfort.
Mr. Aboul Gheit acknowledged the late Emir as a symbol of tolerant humanity, having dedicated his life to serving his country through periods of stability and significant challenges. His Highness believed in joint Arab action as an indispensable goal, and under his reign, Kuwait remained a cornerstone of the Arab system, at the very heart of the League of Arab States.
The Secretary-General emphasised that the contributions of the late Emir to the Arab nation firmly establish his memory in the Arab consciousness. The League stands in solidarity with the people of Kuwait during this mournful time, extending unwavering support, assistance, and sincere condolences.
