Ambassador Khalil Ibrahim Al-Thawadi, Assistant Secretary-General and head of the League of Arab States mission overseeing the presidential elections, conducted a field visit on the first day of voting. The ambassador inspected several polling stations, gaining insights into the progress of the electoral process and the procedures implemented for a seamless voting experience.
The mission closely monitored the efforts aimed at facilitating a smooth, convenient, and orderly electoral process. They acknowledged the organisational and procedural measures taken by the National Election Authority, as well as the comprehensive security and logistical preparations undertaken by relevant authorities to ensure voters could exercise their right to vote and fulfil their national duty.
Subsequently, Ambassador Al-Thawadi held a meeting with Dr. Maya Morsy, President of the National Council for Women, and visited the Council's operations room. Ambassador Al-Thawadi commended the Council's work methodology and praised the contributions of Egyptian women in democratic practices, highlighting their substantial involvement in the success of various elections in recent years. Dr. Morsy detailed the Council's operational approach, emphasising its extensive network of 2,000 followers across the country's governorates, who maintain constant communication with the Council's operations room throughout the electoral process.
