Ambassador Khalil Ibrahim Al-Thawadi, Assistant Secretary-General and head of the League of Arab States mission monitoring the Egyptian presidential elections, held a meeting on 5 December with Ambassador Moushira Khattab, President of the National Council for Human Rights, at the Council's headquarters.
During the meeting, Ambassador Al-Thawadi commended the National Council for Human Rights in Egypt, recognising it as a key national institution dedicated to fostering and advancing the culture of human rights. He emphasised its crucial role in monitoring all electoral processes taking place in Egypt.
Ambassador Khattab highlighted the Council's position as one of the foremost institutions monitoring elections in the Arab Republic of Egypt. She elaborated on the Council's upcoming role, detailing the presence of its observers in various Egyptian governorates during the voting days.
Concluding the meeting, both parties underscored the significance of active participation in the upcoming elections. They expressed mutual satisfaction with the ongoing collaboration between them in the realm of elections, stressing the importance of sustaining this cooperation.
