Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, conducted discussions with Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, on 29 November, at the United Nations headquarters in New York. The meeting took place during Aboul Gheit's participation in a UN Security Council session dedicated to the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, addressing the situation in Gaza.
Gamal Roshdy, the spokesman for the Secretary-General, said that the discussion with Guterres resulted in a broad consensus on the imperative need to swiftly halt the war in Gaza. There was a shared commitment to facilitating sustainable aid to the Strip in a manner that effectively addresses the pressing needs of the population on the brink of famine.
