Gamal Roshdy, the spokesperson for the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, denounced the recent extremist remarks by the Dutch politician Geert Wilders regarding the Palestinian cause and the Kingdom of Jordan.
He added that these statements reflect outdated racist perceptions and delusions, and a lack of understanding of the nature and history of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Roshdy emphasised that these statements also disregard the global consensus on settling the conflict through the two-state solution.
Roshdy clarified that these remarks, which dismiss the existence of the Palestinian people and their homeland, align with ideas and myths promoted by the Israeli extreme right. Making such statements contributes to damaging relations between peoples and escalating levels of hatred and extremism.
The spokesperson underscored that anyone embracing values of coexistence and humanity should unequivocally condemn such racist positions.
