Roshdy criticised inaccurate
press reports from last Friday morning, which erroneously portrayed
alleged disagreements among Arab countries regarding the Arab approach
to addressing the war through the summit decision. He expressed concern
that such reports presented a skewed version of the discussions about
the Arab project, generating a negative impression.
Addressing
questions from the media today, Roshdy clarified that it's not uncommon
for reservations to arise on certain articles, noting that some
countries had submitted written reservations to the secretariat before
the joint summit was scheduled on Friday evening. This occurred prior to
merging the draft Arab resolution with the Islamic statement into a
single document, thereby presenting a unified position from both
organisations and amplifying its significance.
Roshdy
stated, "The Arab position in supporting the people of Gaza against the
ruthless Israeli attack is unified and enjoys complete consensus among
member states." He underscored that the current circumstances do not
permit futile bidding and highlighted that the top priority is to halt
the aggression and provide support to the people of Gaza.
