The fourth forum of electoral administrations in the Arab countries, themed "Media and Elections," is set to be hosted by the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in conjunction with the United Nations Political Department's Electoral Assistance Division and the United Nations Development Programme's Regional Project for Electoral Support in the Arab Region. The forum is scheduled to take place from 12 to 14 June at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Cairo.
The forum is meant to boost cooperation in the arena of elections through the exchange of expertise between electoral administrations in the Arab region.
The event is expected to draw a diverse range of attendees, including numerous heads and members of Arab electoral administrations and bodies, along with representatives from international organisations. The primary objective of this forum is to facilitate discussions on the multifaceted role of media throughout the electoral process. The forum will feature informative sessions, with member states and international organisations delivering presentations on the contributions of both traditional and digital media in elections.
Additionally, the forum will explore strategies to bolster the competencies of electoral administrations in navigating the intricate media landscape across all stages of the electoral process.
