  • Head of Media and Communication Sector meets with head of Supreme Council for Media Regulation

    ​Engineer Khaled Abdel Aziz, head of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation and Vice President of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, received Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, Assistant Secretary-General and head of the Media and Communication Sector, ahead of the 55th session of the Council, scheduled to take place next week at the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States. The session will address a range of media and regulatory issues.

    On this occasion, Ambassador Khattabi expressed his pride in holding the ministerial session in Egypt, the host country. He commended the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, as a constitutional institution, for its role in safeguarding freedom, pluralism, and diversity within the national media and digital landscape. He also praised the Council’s constructive initiatives and forward-looking vision as an active participant in the Arab media system, aimed at advancing media work and reinforcing its vital role across various fields.

    His Excellency further extended his sincere gratitude to the Supreme Council for Media Regulation for hosting and supporting this periodic event, and to the Egyptian media in all its sectors for its consistent coverage—alongside their Arab counterparts—of the League of Arab States’ activities with professionalism and adherence to legal and ethical standards.
