In implementation of Resolution 1187 of the Council of Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports, adopted at its 48th session held in Baghdad, Republic of Iraq, on 31 January 2025, concerning the establishment of the Embassies Football League under the theme "League of Arab States Cup 2025," the League of Arab States – Social Affairs Sector (Youth and Sports Department – Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports) will inaugurate the Embassies Football League under the same theme on 25 September at 7:00 p.m. The tournament will take place at the grounds of the 6th of October City Club.
The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States has delegated His Excellency Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, Assistant Secretary-General and head of the Media and Communications Sector, to attend the opening ceremony and deliver the League's address. On this occasion, His Excellency underscored the League's firm conviction in the significance of sport as a form of soft power that directly shapes relations among peoples and nations, and as a refined vehicle for instilling the values of tolerance and mutual respect. Sport constitutes a universal language comprehensible to all, transcending political boundaries and cultural differences, while reinforcing the principles of fair competition and the spirit of sportsmanship.
The opening ceremony will be attended by His Excellency Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports and Chairman of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers; His Excellency Engineer Adel Said El Naggar, Governor of Giza; as well as Their Excellencies the Ambassadors of the participating countries.
