Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, denounced the storming of the sacred Al-Aqsa Mosque by the extremist Israeli minister, Itamar Ben Gvir, who led a group of radical settlers.
Gamal Roshdy, spokesperson for the Secretary-General, said the incident was a flagrant provocation designed to incite tensions and exacerbate the situation. He further noted that the minister's attack on the mosque under the protection of occupation forces exposes the true nature of the Israeli government and its extremist agenda, which undermines peaceful coexistence.
Roshdy conveyed Mr. Aboul Gheit’s assertion that the continued violation of the historic and legal status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque constitutes a profound affront to the sentiments of two billion Muslims worldwide. He asserted that through these unacceptable and reprehensible actions, the Israeli government is willfully dismantling any prospects for fostering interfaith harmony and peaceful coexistence in the region.
