The 28th Symposium for Heads of Training Bodies in the Arab Armed Forces convened at the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States from 24 to 28 November 2024. The event was presided over by Major General Salah Rashid Al Saad, head of the Bahraini delegation, alongside Ambassador Khalil Ibrahim Al-Zawadi, Assistant Secretary-General and head of the Arab Affairs and National Security Sector. The symposium was attended by Minister Plenipotentiary Tariq Abdul Salam, Director of the Military Administration, and a distinguished group of officers and heads of training bodies from the armed forces of 17 Arab countries.
The primary focus of the symposium was to discuss and endorse the study prepared during the preliminary meeting of representatives of the heads of training bodies last July. The study addressed the theme "The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Developing Military Capabilities and Its Impact on Operations and Training.” This gathering aimed to promote military coordination and cooperation among Arab countries, facilitate the exchange of expertise in training, and enhance the operational and academic capabilities of the Arab armed forces.
A key outcome of the symposium is the development of a unified advisory study and the formulation of valuable recommendations to strengthen the scientific and academic foundations of Arab armed forces. Such symposiums hold particular significance for the Chiefs of Staff, reflecting their dedication to fostering joint Arab military cooperation and reinforcing the bonds of brotherhood among Arab nations.
