As part of the efforts of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States to support initiatives meant to revive libraries damaged by conflicts and wars in Arab countries, the Library of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States contributed a large collection of books to the Yemeni Library in the city of Mukalla, capital of Hadhramaut governorate. The collection includes more than 6,000 books on joint Arab action and various human sciences in Arabic, English, and French.
During the celebration held by the Yemen Library on 17 October 2022, in tandem with the celebration of the Arab Document Day by the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, His Excellency Mabkhout bin Madi, the governor of Hadhramaut, gave a speech in which he stressed the importance of preserving heritage and documents.
Bin Madi expressed his sincere gratitude for receiving the collection from the Library of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, explaining that the contributions, in addition to their precious cultural value, represent a great moral value in light of the difficult conditions that Yemen is facing. The collection will also grant generations of students, researchers, intellectuals, and scientists the opportunity to read and conduct scientific research.
