1-Monitor the political scene and course of events in the Arab occupied territories in Palestine, Syria and southern lebanon.
2-Follow-up on the Middle East peace process portfolio, through the monitoring of:
The international positions: the members of the International Quartet, the European Union countries, countries on individual basis, and positions of regional groups.
3-Present the Arab stances on the situation in the occupied territories, particularly with regard to the issues of Jerusalem, judaization, settlements, etc. within the context Arab and international cooperation forums with China, Turkey, India, Latin American and Caribbean countries.
4-Present the Arab positions on the recent developments in the occupied Arab territories within the mechanisms of Barcelona Process and the Union for the Mediterranean, as the Middle East peace process and the situation in the Arab occupied territories represent the main item on the political dialogue agenda.
5-Follow-up on and present the Arab Peace Initiative (Beirut Summit 2002), within the framework of the Arab Peace Initiative Committee, and the United Nations.
6-Coordinate between the Secretariat General and the missions of the Arab League abroad on the presentation of the Arab viewpoint approved by the Arab League Council at summit, foreign ministers, and permanent delegates levels, within the framework of communication with foreign countries of the missions' headquarters.
7-Participate in all activities concerning the occupied Arab territories, whether at the Secretariat General Headquarters or elsewhere.
