Missions - Targets

    • Participating in the development of policies, plans, strategies and programs to promote Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Arab world, in cooperation with specialized Arab organizations in these areas.
    • Coordinating with specialized Arab organizations, in preparing studies, projects, and explanatory memos within the scope of Education and Scientific Research, to be scheduled on the agenda of Arab Summits in its Ordinary Sessions, Economic and Social Development Summits, Council of the League of Arab States and Social and Economic Council.
    • Following-up on the implementation of resolutions in areas of Education and Scientific Research, issued by Arab summits in its ordinary sessions, Economic and Social Development Summits, the Council of the League of Arab States and the Economic and Social Development Council, in addition to following-up the implementation of these resolutions by relevant bodies (organizations and states).
    • Preparing periodic reports of the department, to be submitted to the Council of the League of Arab States, the Economic and Social Council and Media Sector.
    • Coordinating and cooperating with governmental bodies, ministerial councils, specialized Arab international organizations, the private sector and civil society organizations, in implementing joint activities aimed at Education development in the Arab World.
    • Preparing and organizing all activities and events in coordination with the relevant bodies in the Secretariat General, and the concerned specialized Arab organizations in the field of Education and Scientific Research.
    • Participating in the activities and events organized by the international and regional Arab organizations in the field of Education.
    • Performing all administrative work and preparing budgets of all departmental activities.​

    • Preparing draft agendas and programs for joint Arab action in the area of Education and Scientific Research.
    • Following-up on the implementation of resolutions and recommendations relevant to  Education and Scientific Research issued by Councils of the League of Arab States, its committees and bodies, and evaluating their achievements.
    • Coordinating and cooperating in the field of Education and Scientific Research between the department and different governments, Arab and international organizations as well as specialized ministerial councils.
    • Organizing and attending conferences and seminars.
