Today marks the anniversary of the historic injustice the Palestinian people have been experiencing for 101 years when British Foreign Minister Arthur Balfour issued on 2 November, 1917, his ominous promise to establish a national home for the Jews in the land of Arab Palestine. It is the false promise made by those who do not own to those who do not deserve, which caused the catastrophe for the Palestinian people and subjected them to the crime of ethnic cleansing by displacing them from their homeland. Furthermore, they are subject to confiscation of their properties, demolitions of their villages and cities, and continued deprivation of all their legitimate and inalienable rights that were guaranteed by all norms, charters and resolutions of international legitimacy. Foremost is the right to self-determination, national independence, and the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
