The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia convened the Extraordinary Session of the Joint Arab-Islamic Summit on 11 November in Riyadh, under the chairmanship of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia. The summit saw the participation of His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, and His Excellency Mr. Hussein Ibrahim Taha, Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, alongside Their Majesties, Excellencies, and Highnesses—the Kings, Presidents, and Emirs of Arab and Islamic nations. The discussions centred on the ongoing Israeli aggression in Palestine and Lebanon, examining its grave implications for the region and the actions required to address it.
The summit was preceded by a preparatory ministerial meeting on 10 November, chaired by His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia. The preparatory session brought together His Excellency Mr. Aboul Gheit and His Excellency Mr. Taha, with the participation of Their Highnesses and Excellencies, Foreign Ministers and heads of delegations.
