  • Aboul Gheit warns of Israel's flagrant arrogance in Occupied Palestinian Territories, Lebanon, and Syria
    التاريخ: 2025/04/04

Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, affirmed that the wars waged by Israel against the occupied Palestinian territories—particularly in the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, and Syria—have entered a dangerous new phase marked by flagrant arrogance, systematic breaches of signed agreements, violations of national sovereignty, and a deliberate escalation in the targeting of civilians. He warned of the grave consequences of continued international inaction in the face of this unrestrained aggression, which stands in blatant defiance of the principles and norms enshrined in international law.

The Secretary-General underscored that the Israeli war machine shows no indication of halting its operations, as long as the leaders of the occupying power persist in diverting attention from their internal crises by exporting them outward. He noted that this tactic has become increasingly transparent to the international community.

Gamal Roshdy, the official spokesperson for the Secretary-General, conveyed Mr. Aboul Gheit’s assertion that the ongoing war on Gaza—with its relentless campaign of mass killings and the forced displacement of hundreds of thousands—constitutes an unprecedented episode of brutality and dehumanisation. He said that the underlying objective appears to be the expulsion of the population from the Strip by rendering life within it unlivable. He called upon all peace-loving nations committed to the defence of international law to act swiftly and decisively to put an end to this appalling massacre.

Moreover, the spokesperson highlighted that the resumption of Israel’s assassination policy in Lebanon constitutes an unacceptable and deplorable breach of the ceasefire agreement and poses a serious risk of uncontrollable escalation. He stressed that Israel’s actions in both Syria and Lebanon reflect a calculated military provocation aimed at inflaming tensions and serving narrow domestic agendas at a devastating cost to innocent lives and regional stability.
