  • Statement from the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States
    التاريخ: 2025/02/05

The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States reaffirms that the fundamental principles of the Palestinian cause remain an unwavering pillar of absolute Arab consensus. At the heart of these principles lies the Palestinian people’s legitimate right to establish their independent state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The General Secretariat underscores that the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip together constitute the unified territory of the future Palestinian state, within the framework of the two-state solution, with no separation between them or infringement upon Palestinian rights. The steadfast presence of the Palestinian people on their land is a testament to the justice of their cause.

While recognising the United States and its President’s stated commitment to achieving a just peace in the region, the General Secretariat firmly asserts that the proposal put forward by President Trump promotes a scenario of Palestinian displacement—an approach categorically rejected by the Arab world and the international community alike. This proposition contravenes international law and stands as a formula for further instability, rather than a pathway to peace. The General Secretariat stresses that the two-state solution remains the sole viable foundation for achieving a just and lasting peace, ensuring security for both Palestinians and Israelis, and fostering stability in the broader region.
