Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, condemned on 6 May the seizure of the headquarters of the Arab Organisation for Agricultural Development in Khartoum, Sudan, by the Rapid Support Forces. The building was reportedly converted into a military barracks, and the forces remained stationed around the organisation's headquarters for some time before storming it.
The Secretary-General's spokesman expressed the League's demand for the immediate evacuation of the organisation's headquarters from any military presence and for it to be returned to the League of Arab States. The League also warned against any tampering with the organisation's property.
