Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, participated on 28 November in the third edition of the Arab Government Excellence Award ceremony, held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat. During the event, 23 winners were honoured from among the main categories of the award.
The Arab Government Excellence Award was first launched in May 2019 at the General Secretariat’s headquarters, through an initiative by the Arab Administrative Development Organisation. The award was established under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai. Its purpose is to spotlight successful administrative experiences in the Arab region, maximise the benefits derived from these experiences, promote a culture of quality and distinguished performance, and encourage government institutions to enhance the services they provide and the tasks they perform.
Minister Plenipotentiary Gamal Roshdy, the official spokesman for the Secretary-General, stated that Mr. Aboul Gheit asserted the significance and symbolism of the award as a key motivator for amplifying efforts to enhance the effectiveness of Arab governments and refine work methods, aiming for the highest levels of efficiency and productivity. The Secretary-General expressed his hope that the award would inspire Arab governments to embrace bold thinking, foster a competitive spirit, and pursue excellence.
Roshdy conveyed the Secretary-General’s congratulations to all the winners, commending their efforts and initiatives to improve government institutions' performance. He also underscored the importance of continuous efforts to enhance government performance, as it is central to any serious initiative aimed at advancing societies.
