    Curriculum Vitae

    Born on 24 November 1957 in Al Hoceima, Morocco. Married with two daughters.

    Graduated in 1980 from the Faculty of Legal, Social, and Economic Sciences at Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University in Fez, specialising in political science. He then joined the Higher Institute of Journalism to fulfil his civil service.

    Throughout his professional and diplomatic career, he completed various training programmes in Morocco and abroad, focusing on international relations, media, and human rights.

     

    Missions

    March 2020 – Present: Assistant Secretary-General, Head of Financial and Administrative Control Sector, League of Arab States 

    2011 – 2019: Ambassador of His Majesty to the Kingdom of Bahrain 

    2007 – 2011: Minister Plenipotentiary, overseeing Maghreb, Arab, and Islamic issues at the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation 

    2002 – 2007: Advisor to the Minister Delegate for Foreign Affairs, responsible for political and parliamentary affairs 

    Inspector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs 

    2000 – 2002: Head of Studies at the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation 

    1999 – 2000: Served at the Directorate of Public Diplomacy and Non-Governmental Actors, later promoted to head of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Service, responsible for the Al-Quds Committee file 

    1993 – 1999: Advisor at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Cairo; participated in multiple sessions of the League of Arab States Council and Ministerial Councils 

    1990 – 1993: Responsible for Maghreb Studies; Advisor in the Office of the Minister for Moroccan Community Affairs Abroad, overseeing media and publishing 

    1985 – 1990: Special Mission Advisor in the Office of the Minister for Parliamentary Relations 

    1982 – 1985: Foreign Relations and International Cooperation Officer, Ministry of Information 

    Participated in numerous high-level events, including Maghreb, Arab, and Islamic summits, UN General Assembly sessions, inter-regional dialogues, Euro-Mediterranean partnerships, and bilateral cooperation committees

    Organising Committee (Media Sector) for the Fifth Arab Sports Games (Rabat, 1985) 

    Preparatory Committee for the First National Debate on Media and Communication; served as Rapporteur for the Committee on Public and Institutional Communication
