 | Ambassador Dr. Hussein Al-Hindawi is a former diplomat and
international advisor to the United Nations, and a writer with a PhD
with honours in modern philosophy from France. He speaks Arabic, French
and English and has published more than 10 books. Experience and
positions: • Adviser to the Iraqi Prime Minister between May 2020 and
March 2022. • Adviser to the President of the Republic of Iraq between
2015 and 2018. • Senior international advisor to the United Nations
between 2008 and 2015. • Member of the International Advisory Committee
that evaluated the municipal elections in Algeria in 2007. • Head of the
Independent High Electoral Commission in Iraq (ranked as a minister)
between 2004 and 2007. • Member of the Board of Trustees of the National
Authority for Communication and Media in June 2004. • Member of the
United Nations Mission to Haiti between 1993 and 1995. • Special Envoy
of Amnesty International to Lebanon and Yemen several times between 1991
and 1995. • Editor-in-chief of the Arabic section of the United Press
International News Agency between 1995 and 2004. • Writer in prominent
Arab magazines and newspapers (Al Hayat, Al Mada, Al Sabah, Al Ighterab
Al Adaby, Nizwa, Al Safir, Al Quds Al Arabi, Al Sabah Al Jadeed, Al Alam
and Al Haqiqa) from 1985 until present. He has dozens of articles
translated into English and published in renowned Western
newspapers such as the National Review, National Interest, and the
