Born on 1/1/1949 Married with four sons and a boy, Ambassador / Khalil Ibrahim Mohammed Saleh Al-Thawadi holds a Bachelor of Arts in Arabic and Islamic Studies from Kuwait University and a Diploma in Advanced Management from the University of Bahrain and a Diploma in Executive Management from the University of Bahrain. He started working in the Ministry of Information, where he joined Bahrain Television since its establishment in 1973. He served as an announcer and a news anchor on television and an observer for television and radio programs. He was promoted to director of Bahrain TV and as a Deputy Minister of radio and television, as well as being Deputy Minister for culture and national heritage, until he was selected to become the Executive Director of Bahrain Television during the period 1996 - 2004. He served as Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States (2004 - 2010) and a Non Resident Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Republic of Sudan. He also became a member of the Bahrain Shura Council during the 2010-2014 session. He also received a number of honors and medals, most notably: the medal of the late Imam Shaikh Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Emir of Bahrain in the second degree in recognition of his sincere and distinguished efforts in serving the nation and his government, Honorary Fellowship of the Arab Egyptian Accountants Association 2007,in addition to being honored by the Secretary General of the League for his role in strengthening and developing the relations of his country with the Arab League September 2010. He is currently Assistant Secretary General for Arab National Security Affairs at the League of Arab States |
