  • Aboul Gheit condemns storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli extremists
    التاريخ: 2024/08/13
Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, has vehemently condemned the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli extremists, led by Ben Gvir, the Minister of National Security in the occupation government. He emphasised that these extremists are recklessly pushing the situation to the brink, deliberately inciting the emotions of hundreds of millions of Muslims around the world.

Gamal Roshdy, the spokesman for the Secretary-General, noted that the storming was carried out under the protection of Israeli police, who transformed the Old City into a militarised zone and imposed severe restrictions on the entry of worshippers. As such, the occupation government bears full responsibility for this provocative escalation and its persistent incitement of religious sentiments.

The spokesman further underscored that these repeated incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque violate the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and form part of a systematic Israeli policy aimed at the temporal and spatial division of the sacred site. He warned that exploiting religious sensitivities to score political points is a perilous and reprehensible tactic.
