  • Aboul Gheit condemns occupation's incineration of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza
    Date: 28/12/2024

Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, vehemently condemned the occupation's heinous act of setting fire to Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip following its storming, which resulted in the tragic martyrdom of several medical personnel.

Gamal Roshdy, spokesperson for the Secretary-General, conveyed Mr. Aboul Gheit's assertion that the war crimes perpetrated by Israel in Gaza will remain impervious to any statute of limitations, emphasising that the persistent international silence constitutes a profound blemish on the collective conscience of the global community.

Mr. Aboul Gheit underscored that the deliberate targeting, prolonged siege, and ultimate destruction of the hospital and its staff reflect an unprecedented level of dehumanisation and a flagrant disregard for the foundational principles of international humanitarian law governing armed conflict.

Roshdy further highlighted the gravity of the situation, noting that after 450 harrowing days under relentless assault, the people of Gaza are now enduring the most egregious phases of the war, marked by the freezing deaths of children and the incineration of medical personnel. He warned that this deafening silence in the face of such atrocities threatens to irreparably undermine the international legal framework meant to protect civilians from slaughter and abuse.
