    Date: 21/07/2024

The Administrative and Financial Affairs Sector (Training and Work Methods Development Department) organised an introductory training programme on the activities of the League of Arab States for a delegation of diplomats from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The programme took place from 21 to 25 July at the General Secretariat headquarters.

The visit was inaugurated by His Excellency Ambassador Mohammed Saleh Al-Ajiri, Assistant Secretary-General and head of the Administrative and Financial Affairs Sector, and His Excellency Mr. Fahd bin Khalid Al-Khamali, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the League of Arab States. They emphasised the importance of intensifying these training programmes and the necessity of continuing to hold courses. They highlighted the value of an introductory course on the League of Arab States for Arab youth, particularly diplomats in Arab countries, to introduce them to the League’s tasks, work mechanisms, and decision-making processes, as well as to familiarise them with the League's positions on regional and international issues.

The training programme included several introductory lectures about the League of Arab States, covering its origins and working mechanisms, the role of the media in joint Arab action, Arab culture, the League's efforts in the Palestinian cause, economic relations between Arab countries, and its contributions to international political affairs and arms control. Additionally, the programme addressed the League’s efforts in implementing sustainable development goals and included visits to the General Secretariat Library and the Great Hall.
